Hi!
My name is Freddee, I am a grade 6 student in Toronto, and I have something exciting to share with you. Something cool about me,one of my close friends’ mom is Francesca, and she is the founder of YEC! Another fun fact about me is that I was the first youth ambassador for YEC.No, it’s not yucky! YEC stands for Youth Empowerment Collective. Their goal is to make every youth out there feel welcome,empowered and important. I’m volunteering to help out at YEC’s first ever Youth Empowerment Day.
It will be held on May the 4th at Bradford’s local library!
We will host an art exhibit, which will be a collection of youth created, mixed media pieces of art, with a theme of empowerment.

I got involved with YEC because I believe every youth should have an equal chance to be part of something that will help them find their true power, which EVERYONE has inside of them! My personal theme,for May the 4th is “ MAY EMPOWERMENT BE WITH YOU” I am going to have a booth you can visit to create your very own,affirmation craft.
Can you think of a time you felt empowered? I know I have felt empowered when I was able to be at the FIRST ever YEC meeting! My role at that first meeting was to give everyone name tags. Well,except for the people who were on the zoom! Then later on I had an exciting chance to monitor and have some fun with some of our future volunteers and some youth that are already volunteers!
